Welcome to the 2nd Acoustical Society of America Workshop on Speech, “Cross-language speech perception and variations in linguistic experience” site. The workshop’s organizing committee is pleased to announce this special two-day scientific program on the effects of language experience on speech perception. The workshop will be held on Thursday afternoon May 21, Friday May 22 and Saturday May 23, 2009, at the end of the meeting of the Acoustical Society of America, being held in Portland, Oregon (May 18-22).

The workshop is primarily intended for basic and applied researchers and graduate students in psycholinguistics, linguistics, phonetics, speech sciences, languages and second language learning, as well as others with interests in the study of experiential influences on speech perception.
